Our tips for your stay in Düsseldorf

Our guesthouse is surrounded by a variety of bakeries, cafes and restaurants serving regional and international dishes. There is also a traditional brewery nearby. You will find a laundry and a supermarket around the corner.

The Japanese quarter "Little Tokyo" is just a 5-minute walk away.


Gästehaus Grupello is a 5-minute walk from Düsseldorf's main train station. Düsseldorf Airport is a 15-minute drive away, and Messe Düsseldorf can be reached by public transport in about 12 minutes.


The underground station "Oststraße" is just around the corner. Lines U74, U75, U76, U77, U78 and 79 run here.

Classic Remise

Historic Kaiserswerth with Kaiserpfalz

Located in the north of Düsseldorf on the Rhine, Kaiserswerth is the oldest part of the city.

Castle ruin „Kaiserpfalz“ from the 12th century, district with historic marketplace, medieval basilica and excellent gastronomic offers as well as ferry pier with Rhine ferry for crossing to Meerbusch/ camping site.

Arrival by public transport: U79 direction Duisburg to stop "Klemensplatz".

Benrath Palace and Park

Wildpark in Grafenberg Forest

Rennbahnstrasse 60, 40629 Düsseldorf

One of the oldest wildlife parks in Germany shows native animal species, forest school and permanent exhibition, open daily and free of charge. Around the free-range areas and enclosures of the animals is a more than 200-year-old beech forest home. Forest playgrounds, mountain bike trails and a traditional horse racecourse with top-class racing days, as well as a glider field.

Arrival from main station: Tram 709, stop „Auf der Hardt“, from there it is15 minutes walking distance.

Out of town destinations

Neanderthal Museum

Talstr. 300, 40822 Mettmann

It tells the story of mankind from its beginnings in the African savannahs more than four million years ago to the present day. 1856 site of discovery (uncovered again) and namesake of the Neanderthals.

Permanent and special exhibitions, on-site gastronomy, large playgrounds and picnic areas. Next door is the Ice Age game preserve with replicas of prehistoric aurochs, bison and tarpan wild horses.

Many hiking trails around the enclosures close to the animals.

Arrival from main station: S28 direction Mettmann stop "Neanderthal"(outside Düsseldorf city area), then 5 minutes walk.




Feste Zons

Zollfeste Zons at the Rhein is a medieval town with an almost completely preserved fortification from the 14th century and a 600-year-old windmill. Historic restaurants and cafes, district museum, open-air stage.

Arrival from main station: Regional train to Dormagen, at the station bus to Zons. Ferry connection from Düsseldorf-Urdenbach.




Museum Island Hombroich and Langen Foundation

Minkel 2, 41472 Neuss

Ten walk-in exhibition pavilions on 21 hectares with works of modern and contemporary art as well as sculptures and artifacts from the Asian and African regions in a landscape. Cafeteria with seasonally changing buffet included in the entrance fee.




Not far away is the Raketenstation Hombroich with the Langen Foundation by star architect Tadao Ando and the sculpture hall Neuss. Arrival by public transport: from main station tram 709 in direction Neuss to stop „Landestheater Neuss“, then bus 869 or 877 to "Museum Insel Hombroich.
